Concert Program

All music composed by Tze Toh

performed by Tze Toh (piano), Lazar T. Sebastine (Carnatic violin), Teo Boon Chye (sax), Wu Bingling (violin)

Inspired by the concept of superposition in quantum mechanics - a system which exists in a combination of all its possible states at once, Quantum State is a contemporary fusion music concert that dreams of a world / state where all possibilities exist for humanity, nature and technology, and progress is inclusive and for all.

I had an idea. The Instruments in this concert would represent the 4 entities:

Violin - Humanity, fragile, potential for greatness, limitless imagination, ability to dream, love, but a limited lifetime. Carnatic violin - Nature, voice of life, roots of strength, branches of life extending out to limitless possiblities, flow, life force, eternal, energy in all forms, spiritual. Piano - Space - emptiness, and hence infinite possibilities, mysterious, unknown, void, vastness, beauty, timeless. Sax - Tech / Science - industrialization? technological progress? rhythmic, cold, relentless.
