Wu Bingling

Bingling was awarded a Master’s Degree in Music at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London in 2010 with a Distinction for her Final Violin Recital under the guidance of Professor Diana Cummings.

Whilst studying in London, Bingling has participated in various notable performances with the college ensembles, such as recording for the BBC Radio Three ‘Discovering Music’ programme and the Ether Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, just to name a few. She was also professionally involved in several ensembles in UK and Fundação Orquestra Estúdio in Portugal which led her to work with renowned musicians including Julian Bliss, Rivka Golani, Guy Braunstein, Uri Caine, Graham Fitkin, Gianluca Marcianò, Zsolt Nagy and Edward Gardner.

In Singapore, Bingling was invited to perform (Singapore Premiere) Lou Harrison’s Double Concerto for Violin and Cello with Javanese Gamelan with the Lasalle-SIA Gamelan Performance Lab and also took up the role of Principal violinist at the Audioimage Symphony Orchestra as well as the Edustring Ensemble in a well-acclaimed dance production by the Singapore Dance Ensemble.

Bingling has recorded for award-wining short film ‘Popiah’ by local director Royston Tan and is currently an active freelance violinist enjoying her music-making experience with Singapore Lyric Opera, re:mix and various local ensembles.
